It happens in Brazil. I hope you enjoy it…

Hello! I’m Thiago Luiz. From a young age, I’ve had a strong connection with music and mathematics. My first memory of starting to like math in school was at the age of 10. At 12, I began studying erudite piano.
When I left school, I earned a degree in systems analysis, where I identified more with computer programming. Later, I earned a degree in mathematics and completed a postgraduate degree in mathematics. Today, I am a mathematics teacher. On the other hand, music continues to be an essential part of my life.
During my adolescence, I discovered the music of various artists and bands, most of them through my father’s vinyls and CDs. First, I started listening to Tim Maia and The Beatles. Then I discovered Eric Clapton, Elton John, Phil Collins, Genesis, among others. I remember that the first Genesis CD I listened to was not much to my liking at the time. I preferred Phil Collins’ solo work. However, when I started listening to other Genesis albums, I was absolutely amazed, and they became my favorite band (to this day). From then on, I didn’t rest until I completed my collection of Genesis albums (whether on CD or digital format), and then I began exploring other music related to Genesis or its members. That’s when I discovered Simon Collins (Phil Collins’ son) and his former band Sound Of Contact. I also found a band called Flaming Youth, in which Phil Collins played drums and sang before joining Genesis. All this journey of discoveries contributed to the development of my own style as a musician.
Montevalle

In 2015, between March and June, I played keyboards in a rock band called Montevalle. In this experience, I had the opportunity to play songs by some of my favorite artists (The Beatles and Paul McCartney), among others. On June 12th of that year, we performed a show at Praça do Suspiro, in Nova Friburgo, RJ, Brazil.
.
The guitarist of Montevalle at that time (my friend Werner) and I had another project for many years, in which we created several songs that we played together. However, this project was interrupted. We had a strong influence of progressive rock in many of our songs. Even today, Werner and I have a very similar musical taste.

In 2016, I obtained the Fundamental Music Course diploma from the Brazilian Conservatory of Music.
Currently, I dedicate myself to playing keyboards/piano, working on my own music, and teaching mathematics. I also enjoy writing poems from time to time.
